A man dressed as Santa Claus has stolen cash from a shopping centre safe in Sydney's south-west suburbs.

Police say the man broke into the office of a retail store at the Liverpool shopping centre around 8pm on Sunday.
The store was closed at the time, but the shopping centre was open.
The "Bad Santa" broke into the store's safe and stole cash, before escaping the scene.
Closed circuit cameras show the man making his getaway - dressed in a Santa suit with white hair and a curly beard while he pushed his red sack in a shopping trolley.
