Colombia's president has won the Nobel Peace Prize in the same week his deal to end 52 years of war with Marxist rebels was rejected.

A narrow majority of Colombian voters this week rejected the deal President Juan Manuel Santos signed with Marxist rebels to end the conflict.
In its surprise announcement, the Nobel jury acknowledged the referendum result, but said Mr Santos' work has brought the bloody conflict significantly closer to an end.
Mr Santos has promised to keep working on a peace plan, with the popular vote pointing to the original as being too lenient on the FARC rebels in the eyes of the public.
FARC rebel leader Rodrigo Londono tweeted his congratulations to the president.
The Nobel Peace Prize is worth about $1.2 million.
Mr Santos said he felt "overwhelmed" by the accolade.
