An 11-year-old girl was shot at a house in Sydney on Tuesday. A teenage boy was also hurt, but the ABC reports that his injuries are not from a gunshot wound.
Police say several shots were fired inside the house on Tuesday morning, by a man who appears not to have known his victims.
The ABC reports that he was looking for someone who was not at the address and opened fire after becoming upset.
The girl is to have surgery on a wound to her leg.
Acting Inspector Paul Warden says the children are lucky to be alive.
