Doctors for injured United States congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords say she is fit to attend her husband's space shuttle launch later this week.
The Democrat was shot in the head during a shooting rampage that killed six people including a judge and a nine-year-old girl at an outdoor meeting she was hosting in Arizona in January, the ABC reports.
Doctors say Ms Giffords, who suffered a serious brain injury, is staging a miraculous recovery as she learns to walk and talk again.
Her astronaut husband, Mark Kelly, says he is thrilled she will be able to attend the launch of the Endeavour's final mission, which he will command.
Endeavour is scheduled to launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral on Friday.
