Five children are in hospital in northern France after eating beefburgers infected with a strain of E.coli bacteria.
Health officials say the outbreak does not appear to be related to the lethal strain of E.coli that has killed 37 people and made thousands of others ill, mostly in northern Germany.
Boxes of beefburgers believed to be behind the French infections have been withdrawn from sale in France by German discount supermarket Lidl.
The burgers are produced in France but may contain meat from various European countries.
