The Taliban has said a husband and wife carried out a suicide attack that killed eight people at a police station in north-western Pakistan.
The attack took place in Kolachi, near the tribal region and Taliban stronghold of South Waziristan, the BBC reports.
The pair entered the police station dressed in burkas underneath which they hid rifles, hand grenades and suicide vests.
They held staff hostage for several hours before detonating themselves, killing seven officers and a tea boy.
A Pakistani Taliban spokesperson said the attack was carried out in retaliation for the killing of Osama Bin Laden by US special forces, and for Pakistani government attacks against militants.
A BBC correspondent says the Pakistani Taliban has previously used children as human bombs. The use of a husband and wife suicide squad is a new tactic, the correspondent said.
