A combined naval force from the Honduras and the United States has recovered 2.5 tonnes of cocaine from a submarine used by drug traffickers.
The BBC reports the vessel is submerged because the crew tried to sink it after they were intercepted two weeks ago off the coast of Honduras near the province of Gracias a Dios.
General Rene Osorio said there are more than five tonnes of cocaine on the vessel, and it would take two days to retrieve all of it.
