Philippines' death toll from typhoons more than 100

The death toll from two strong typhoons that cut across the the Philippines' main island, leaving behind widespread flooding, has risen to more than 100.

Typhoon Nesat hit the Philippines on 27 September and was followed on 1 October by Typhoon Nalgae.

The national disaster agency says the typhoons crossed agricultural provinces of northern Luzon, with crop damage estimated at $275 million.

Nesat was the more destructive of the two, bringing widespread flooding to provinces north of Manila that is still to recede fully.
