Police in South Korea have detained a Chinese man accused of throwing petrol bombs at the Japanese embassy in Seoul after reportedly saying his grandmother was forced into wartime sex slavery.

Police say four molotov cocktails were thrown at the embassy, leaving burn marks on part of an outer wall.

They say the man, 38, from Guangzhou, entered South Korea last month via Japan on a tourist visa.
