12:27 pm on 24 May 2004

A facial reconstruction has been completed of skeletal remains found in an American Samoa National Park last year.

The identity of the victim is not known but it is believed that he was an American and was in American Samoa for two weeks before he was killed.

His remains were discovered on Mount Alava.

A witness in American Samoa helped with the reconstruction by working with an FBI forensic artist to provide a facial characteristic composite.

Posters of the completed picture of the victim are being distributed across the United States and DNA samples are being cross checked.

The case is being linked to the murder of Wyatt Bowles Junior last year.
