Fiji Television Limited's bid to buy out Papua New Guinea's EMTV in a multi-million dollar deal is reported to have been accepted.
Fiji TV's news service reported last night that its chief executive, Ken Clark, visited Port Moresby three weeks ago but both he and EMTV remain tight lipped.
However, it says sources within Fiji's TV's majority shareholder, the indigenous Fijian-owned Yasana Holdings, and the Fiji high commission in Port Moresby have confirmed that Fiji TV has been actively pursuing an arrangement.
An announcement is expected to be made at Fiji TV's annual general meeting.
