Samoa dialysis unit expected operational by Mrach

Samoa's Finance Minister, Misa Telefoni, says a local dialysis unit for diabetic patients should be up and running in March.

During the tabling of a supplementary budget this week, Misa says this should save more than half a million US dollars a year in the medical costs associated in having patients stay in New Zealand for ongoing dialysis.

He says a further 650 thousand US dollars has been allowed for the construction of the unit.
