PNG march for Australian apology deferred until April 16th

A march planned in the Papua New Guinea capital of Port Moresby yesterday has been postponed until later this month.

The march is to protest the Australian treatment of the Prime minister Sir Michael Somare in Brisbane airport a fortnight ago, when he was asked to remove his shoes in a security check.

Organizers have lodged papers to have a protest march on April the 16th.

It's expected to be the biggest protest yet by locals, who are still demanding Australia apologise over the incident.

Australia's Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer, has said an apology will not be offered over the incident.
