New Zealand's Police Minister, George Hawkins, is in Honiara for talks with the Solomon Islands government and officials of the Regional Assistance Mission, RAMSI.
Mr Hawkins, who's on his first visit to Solomon Islands, says he is pleased to be able witness the possible developments brought about by the restoration of law and order.
He says this is obviously making an impact on the lives of Solomon Islanders and giving them the confidence to rebuild their key institutions, with RAMSI working alongside.
