The Deputy Special Co-ordinator of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, Paul Ash, has led a team to remote Temotu to assure people at public meetings that RAMSI will involve the province in its economic recovery programme.

Temotu leaders told the RAMSI delegation to achieve this new arrangements are needed to counter the province's small size and isolation.

They say that the programmes underway in Honiara do not fit Temotu which has problems unique to itself.

Temotu is nearly a thousand kilometres from the main islands in Solomon Islands.
