Reports from Solomon Islands say another project is soon to re-start commercial activities on Guadalcanal.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation says Earth Movers company, trading as Pacific Timbers, is set to re-start timber milling at the former Fox wood site east of Honiara.

The Minister for Commerce and Employment, Walton Naezon, the Minister for Finance, Peter Boyers, and the Minister for Forest, David Holosivi, have signed an agreement with the company executive to re-start the project.

Mr Naezon says the contract spells out government incentives to allow the company start operation which include duty remissions for equipment to be shipped in as well as tax holidays for a five-year period.
