One of the Prosecution's key witnesses in a conspiracy case against the Vanuatu Maritime Authority, Tuna Fishing, Sound Fishing Group and Guy Bernard is to be sued for perjury.

The Daily Post reports that according to instructions from VMA Commissioner John Les Napuati, the defence counsel has been directed to proceed immediately with the prosecution.

The decision was taken after Joshua Bong allegedly gave oral evidence upon cross-examination that contradicted his sworn statement.
