Tourism in Solomon Islands remains poor

Tourism in Solomon Islands continues to lag far behind the rest of the Pacific region according to a Central Bank report.

The sector still grapples with problems that the bank had identified in its previous reports.

This includes inadequate facilities and infrastructures, poor transportation, lack of qualified human resources, inadequate accommodation and a lack of financial and technological assistance.

The SIBC reports the Bank saying the level of tourist arrivals is insignificant, but that it will improve over the next three to five years.
