More than 2-thousand metric tonnes of squash pumpkin will be the first export sales to be made to Korea.

Tonga's Squash Exporters Council and four of the main Korean squash importers have agreed on the contracts for 2200 tonnes.

It represents an export value of $1.6 million US dollars to this new market, according to the Council.

Shipments to Korea will begin at a minimum fruit size of point-nine kilograms as compared to 1.2 kilograms for Japan.
