The hard work now starts for the Cook Islands Rugby Union following the success of the Under 19 side that has qualified for the World Cup tournament in Dublin, Ireland in April.

The Cook Islands team beat Papua New Guinea 22-21 to qualify for the first time ever for any World Cup tournament.

The CE Ben Koteka says meeting will be held this week to discuss the next course of action.

"We'll be putting in a strategic plan or working backwards from when they do leave for Dublin to ensure our guys are prepared for Dublin in April."
