Suspected scam operator arrested in Vanuatu

An Indo Fijian suspected of operating a scam in Vanuatu has been captured by police in Luganville.

The Daily Post reports that Salendra Sinha was caught trying to board a flight to Honiara.

He is being questioned about a fraudulent scheme in which he allegedly promised to find seasons work for ni-Vanuatu in New Zealand.

The applicants have been demanding their money back .

Mr Sinha has been arrested with another Indo-Fijian man on fraud charges last year.

Two weeks ago the New Zealand High Commission in Port Vila issued a public statement drawing attention to scams promising work in New Zealand, saying the operators were not legitimate.
