An inquiry team to begin looking into the riot in the Solomon Islands capital, Honiara, in April last year, scheduled for yesterday is due to be commissioned on Friday.

The commissioning was set for yesterday, but one of the team, former secretary-general of the Pacific Islands Forum, Noel Levi of Papua New Guinea missed his flight to Honiara.

The inquiry is expected to complete its work in five months.

It is tasked with looking into who instigated the riot and the resulting the destruction of Chinese-owned businesses.
