Another Fijian security guard has been killed in Iraq and two others injured.

The Fiji Times reports that Jone Vakacegu, 40, from the Lau Group died at the weekend when a roadside bomb exploded.

His death has taken the number of Fijian nationals killed in Iraq to 19.

Mr Vakacegu, who was single but had a child from a de facto relationship, was on his fourth tour of duty in Iraq.

His brother, Saimone Vue, is quoted as saying Mr Vakacegu was planning to migrate to the United States after the end of his tour in December because he already had a Green Card.

Mr Vue says the American security company which employed Mr Vakacegu does not have an office in Fiji and they are negotiating directly with it in the United States about funeral arrangements.
