Vili promises big effort at World Championships

It's been 10 years since New Zealand won its first and only World Athletics Championship title, but there is a good chance that will be added to this weekend in Osaka.

Beatrice Faumuina won the discus in Athens in 1997 and she'll be on hand to watch team-mate, the shot-putter Valerie Vili, go for gold on Sunday night.

Vili is ranked number two in the world and is in good form and she's pleased with the way she's responded to training changes in recent times.....

"I do know that I'm a lot stronger and faster than I was ever before, so that's cool and together with my shoulder surgery and stuff like that, I have recovered very well. it's just a matter of going out there and competing and bringing it all together."
