New Caledonia dominates last day of weightlifting at South Pacific Games

New Caledonia has dominated the final day of weightlifting at the South Pacifc Games winning 19 gold medals.

Combined with its sucess in the swimming events, New Caledonia has doubled its medal tally to 75 including 30 gold medals.

It also won three of the four golds on offer on archery's opening day

Samoa's Prime Minister, the Hon. Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi placed sixth in his archery event.

The host nation is a newcomer to the sport at the Games and won a silver and a bronze.

Samoa has moved to second on the medal table, with Papua New Guinea third and Fiji fourth
