The president of Papua New Guinea Hockey says they're not dwelling on the heavy, world record setting losses endured at the Oceania Cup in Queensland.

PNG has their men's and women's sides operating at the olympic qualifying tournament on the sunshine coast.

The PNG mens side was pummeled 35 nil by Australia and 39 nil by New Zealand but Boga Tali Boga says the scorelines are irrelevant for Papua New Guinea teams who have been starved of international action.

Boga Tali Boga says experience and exposure will be invaluable as the game

continues to rebuild in Papua New Guinea.

While the PNG men have completed their programme the PNG women's side will face Australia today while Fiji's womens team will take on New Zealand
