Fiji's multi-million dollar Natadola project will meets its deadline and be completed by the first quarter of 2009.

NBRL chairman Felix Anthony told the Fiji Times that work was expected to be completed by end of this year or early next year.

The proposed works include the construction of a 5-star resort with 275 rooms, restaurants, spa, swimming pool and ancillary facilities including an 18-hole golf course.

Mr Anthony said that about 60 per cent of the work had been completed.

Yesterday, NBRL advertised for expression of interest for the supply of items such as loose furniture, electrical goods, signage, art work, white goods and other items to the new InterContinental hotel.

The 5-star resort project, according to the advertisement is to be completed in March 2009.

The project is being funded by the Fiji National Provident Fund but work at the resort came to a standstill last year, after landowners pressed for compensation for the use of their land.
