Polynesian Airlines in Samoa to welcome new aircraft

10:09 am on 30 May 2008

A new twin otter aircraft for Samoa's Polynesian Airline arrives today at Faleolo International Airport with the Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi scheduled to welcome the plane in a ceremony.

The aircraft was purchased from PPS Aircraft of Canada after some successful negotiations.

The arrival of the new twin otter will give Polynesian airlines another boost in its service between Samoa and American Samoa.

But a source says having two twin otters will enable the airline to provide air services for other Pacific destinations.

Information on whether the aircraft is leased or purchased from the Canadian company will be revealed in this afternoon's ceremony.
