A first time offender has been jailed in Samoa for 14 years after being found guilty of four counts of rape of an eleven year old girl.
47 year old Filifili Taula, was sentenced with a warning from the Supreme Court judge, Lesatele Rapi Va'ai, that the court would not tolerate any kind of sexual crime against young children especially girls.
The judge says it is disturbing to see an increase in the number of sexual offence cases involving young girls that come before the court, despite heavy penalties being imposed.
