Bikini Islanders in the Marshall Islands say they have no option but to pursue the US government in court to get additional compensation for the US nuclear weapons tests of the 1940's and 1950s.
Their latest case has been heard in the US Court of Appeals which is expected to give its verdict within five months.
A Bikini Council representative Jack Niedenthal says having a lawsuit in court helps boost morale among the Islanders.
He says even if the appeal fails, the fight will continue.
"We've been doing this for a long long time. Probably 35 years now the Bikinians have been going back to the US Congress asking for help and we're just going to have to continue to do that."
