American Samoa's governor, Togiola Tulafono, says a special commission has been established to look at setting up a Pacific arts museum in American Samoa.

The Governor says setting up such a museum is a matter of importance and American Samoa needs to look at it seriously.

He says it is clear, following the 10th Festival of the Pacific Arts, that the various arts available throughout the region make it a necessary project.

He says this museum will be of interest to visitors, especially those experts or professionals involved in the historical and cultural aspects of the Pacific who want to learn more about the region.

He says the museum would also be a part of economic development in the territory by attracting visitors.
