Air New Zealand flying each day to Samoa for the first time

7:18 pm on 3 November 2008

Air New Zealand has begun a seventh flight on the Apia/Auckland route.

This marks the first time in the airline's history that it has flown daily between Samoa and New Zealand.

Apia Office Manager Mulitalo Ricky McFall told the Newsline newspaper the daily service is warranted by the growing demand for seats to Samoa from New Zealand and Australia.

The daily flight service is a boost for exporters not only for the New Zealand but also the Los Angeles markets.

Exports of fresh tuna are expected to see a jump with the new daily service.
