The Tongan Government has released details of its relief fund to assist the families of the victims of the Princess Ashika ferry disaster.

The ship sank a week ago with an estimated 93 people drowning on it.

The Government set up the Ashika Relief Fund after enquiries locally and from overseas.

Held at the Westpac Bank of Tonga in Nuku'alofa, the account number is 200029794.

The Tonga Government has already contributed substantially to the fund and other contributions are flowing in.

It says contributions from organizations, groups, or individual members of the public will be highly appreciated.

They can be deposited in the account listed or posted to the Chief Secretary at Prime Minister's Office in Nuku'alofa.
