The Tautua Samoa party will take legal action against the government's electoral and constitution amendments aiming to maintain stability of Parliament and political parties.

It will be the second case brought against the ruling Human Rights Protection party, or HRPP, by the un-registered political party.

It follows a successful court battle in August which quashed the parliamentary speaker's ruling to disqualify nine seats of the Tautua Samoa party.

The chairman of the party, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi, says the second legal action is the result of the electoral amendment that violates their fundamental human rights guaranteed under the country's constitution.

Meanwhile the party has decided to drop their five million US dollars lawsuit against the speaker's ruling in July after advice from the party lawyer and supporters.

The chairman says other MPs wanted to continue with the legal action but the majority believe that if the lawsuit does succeed the tax payers and the public will suffer
