Vanuatu's opposition leader, Serge Vohor, has been flown to Sydney for urgent medical treatment.
The acting Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Moana Carcasses, says Mr Vohor's condition is quite serious, but he won't give any details.
Sources in Port Vila say Mr Vohor has a swelling on his leg.
