Solomon Islands' preparations for July's Festival of Pacific Arts are being scrutinised by regional cultural heads this week, with the opening of the 24th Council of Pacific Arts and Culture meeting in Honiara.
Linda Peterson is the head of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community's delegation at the meeting, which got underway this morning.
She says participating countries and festival organisers have the chance to visit the sites and familiarise themselves with the preparations.
"So it's an opportunity for the host country and the countries that are coming to participate in the festival to meet and to discuss final ... if you like fine-tune preparations. So that's a really important part of this week's discussions."
