A former chief financial officer at Samoa's Airport Authority has been found guilty of 30 counts of theft which relates to more than 15 thousand US dollars of public funds that went missing between 2006 and 2009.
Muli'agatele Rapi Tevaga was charged after an internal audit report found money from landing fees, airport taxes, vehicle parking fees and the use of the airport's facilities were misappropriated.
A former senior accounts clerk, who was also implicated, has left the country after being investigated and the suspect according to court documents has never been charged.
Muli'agatele will be sentenced next month.
