In Papua New Guinea, women landowners from Juha, site of the biggest gas fields in the country, will not be forgotten in a new business plan released.

The plan for the Phembi Juha Women Company Ltd allows them to share in the rich resources of the Juha area, in particular, the LNG project, which is listed as the next richest area after Hides.

The National reports that according to consultant Eddie Yuwi, the plan would help them to get financial assistance from the developer Exxon Mobil as well as other donor agencies and banks.

He says this is a business development plan and money must be used to grow money.

The Juha 9 landowner chairman, John Wabisala, says the plan empowered women in the resource-rich area.

He says at Petroleum Development Licence 9 they want women to also take part in the project.

Evelyn Wabisala, on behalf of the women of Juha, says she wants development to flow to the women in Juha and she wants something for future generations.
