A man from Kiribati employed as a vineyard worker in New Zealand has died after he suffered a cardiac arrest in Blenheim.
Islands Business reports that 45-year old Tierata Nawaia collapsed on Monday at the backpackers hostel where was living.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he died at the scene.
The father-of-five went to Blenheim to work on the recognised seasonal employer scheme in November as an employee of Provine.
