Fiji activists questioned by police

7:23 pm on 24 September 2015

Climate change activists in Fiji were arrested and detained for a few hours in Suva on Wednesday.

One of the protestors Miki Wali says 27 people were detained at the Samabula Police Station in Suva and released after about four hours.

Miki Wali says the protest outside the Australian High Commission was a call for action on climate justice before the COP21 climate summit in Paris.

The groups involved say they respect the decision of the Fiji Police, and will remain vocal on climate justice for the Pacific.
