New Zealand, which is a founding member of the scientific and technical organisation, has always been one of the agency's core funders.

The New Zealand Consul General in Noumea Justin Fepuleai says his government is pleased to enter the next phase of its partnership with the SPC.

The funding, of more than $US13 million dollars, will support SPC's development initiatives across a number of sectors including geoscience, land resources, fisheries, aquaculture and marine ecosystems, statistics and public health.
