He took his oath of loyalty to the Independent State of PNG and the Queen of England before Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia at the parliament house.

Mr Dadae, who was a serving MP in this term of parliament, has been a member of prime minister Peter O'Neill's People's National Congress.

He takes over as vice-regal from Sir Michael Ogio, who passed away earlier this month, near the end of his term.

The swearing in ceremony was the only agenda of the day before PNG's parliament adjourned to March 28.
