An organisation that has just been launched in Vanuatu aims to ensure people who have been wronged get justice.

The Campaign for Justice or C4J, went public on the 20th of July, promising to pursue truth and ensure everyone can fully appreciate democracy.

Its spokesperson, Russell Nari, said the group wants to awaken the sleeping giant of public awareness and create a more even playing field.

He said its mission was for due process, the rule of law, including customary law, to be complied with.

"Really we are dealing with the whole justice issue. For example if a simple ni-Vanuatu goes and reports a crime that has been committed to police, and if they don't take it then we (C4J) take it up and try and find why did this happen."
