Greens must grab chance to get back on right path - Bradford

From Morning Report, 8:25 am on 9 April 2018

Marama Davidson wants to make sure her party stays true to its support base and says her focus is to fight on behalf of New Zealanders let down by poor services, such as the conditions at Middlemore Hospital.

The 44-year-old was named the Greens' new female co-leader yesterday, after a months-long contest against fellow MP, Julie Anne Genter.

Ms Davidson says her position on the back benches will allow her to speak up for the Greens' grass-root support, which is crucial if they are to survive the threatening position of being a small party in a governing arrangement.

Former Greens MP Sue Bradford discusses the change with us.
