An Air Force Orion has found a Tongan fishing vessel stranded without power, after an emergency beacon was activated near Tonga this morning.
The source of the beacon was about 100 nautical miles south of Tonga.
The RNZAF team arranged for another local fishing boat to go to the aid of the vessel and its nine crew, before returning to its base at Whenuapai this afternoon.
