NZ and Australian sharemarkets pick up

The New Zealand sharemarket rebounded somewhat on Tuesday with the NZX50 index up 29 points, or 0.8%, to 3523 on turnover of $31 million.

The Australian 200 index is up 15 points, or 0.4%, at 4087.

At 12.26pm, the New Zealand dollar was trading at 76.66 US, 77.33 Australian, 48.39 pence, 60.82 yen and 0.5985 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 69.30.

Fletcher Building up 12 cents at $6.39, Telecom up 4 cents at $2.59, Chorus up 2 cents at $3.17 and Contact Energy up 6 cents to $4.90.

Sky City Entertainment up 2 cents at $3.53, Sky Network TV unchanged at $5.14 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare up 3 cents at $2.44.

Auckland International Airport Ltd was up 3.5 cents to $2.575 and The Warehouse up 4 cents to $2.60.

Mainfreight was up 19 cents to $9.43, Freightways up 9 cents to $3.83, Vector up 5 cents to $2.73, Refining NZ up 5 cents to $2.65 and Trade Me up 4 cents to $3.98.

Kathmandu was down 5 cents to $1.56 and Hallenstein Glasson up 4 cents to $4.04.

Ebos was down 10 cents to $7.40, Cavalier down 5 cents to $1.41 and Abano Healthcare down 5 cents to $3.95.
