Standard & Poor's says New Zealand and Australian airports are well placed to face a slow-down in China.

The credit rating agency says the ability of the Australian and New Zealand airports to maintain credit quality in the face of industry shocks has been underpinned by resilience in passenger demand.

Standard & Poor's says the willingness of the airport's management to take necessary steps to protect their credit profile has also helped.

It says the outlook is stable for the sector.
