Auckland International Airport made a full year underlying profit of $113 million in the year to June, an increase of 3% on the previous year.

Revenue rose 9% to $351m, helped by the introduction of Pacific Blue, and double digit growth from its retail, carparking and rental income.

The airport's chief exectutive Don Huse says it's a strong result and shows the resilience of the business.

Profit for Mainfreight

Mainfreight says strong sales growth in New Zealand and United States markets are behind an increase in quarterly profit.

The transport company recorded a $8.2m net profit for the three months to June, a 40% increase on the same time last year.

Revenue increased by nearly 18% to $289m.
