Domino's chases provincial markets

7:11 am on 13 August 2014

Domino's Pizza is planning to expand into provincial towns and increase the number of its stores by 30 over three years.

Most of its current 85 outlets are in the cities.

The pizza chain's development proposal comes as its annual results show a 47 percent increase in net profit to more than $A42 million.

The fast-food firm's general manager in New Zealand, Scott Bush, has been brought over from Australia to give the brand a boost.

He said there was plenty of appetite for pizza in the regions.

Mr Bush said Domino's was looking at some areas north of Auckland, as well sites as in the South Island such as Mosgiel and some of the outlying areas of Queenstown.
