Lombard investors to receive payment

9:56 am on 5 December 2009

Investors in failed company Lombard Finance and Investments will this month receive 6.5 cents for every dollar invested, a total of $7.3 million.

The receiver, PricewaterhouseCoopers, says it still expects secured bond holders will be repaid between 17% and 29% of their money, but warns the property market continues to be challenging, with many borrowers unable to sell properties.

PricewaterhouseCoopers also says Inland Revenue has not yet finished its audit of the firm.

Lombard Finance and Investments owes $127 million to about 4400 investors.
